I was so excited when I found out the Toronto Cider Festival was offering “festival in a box” this year. It’s a festival that I’ve always wanted to attend but never got the chance to. With this COVID friendly option, now I can. Since I’ve never been a fan of beer, so cider has always been a great alternative for me. So when I found out, I ordered a box immediately.

Their Festival in a Box features local craft cider from Waupoos and Cider County. October’s box features 6 bottles of County Cider’s latest flavours including elderflower, blackberry peach, and harvest spice, as well as a four-pack of Waupoos craft cider. The box also comes with exclusive glasses, a trusty bottle opener, and a Toronto Cider Festival hat.

The ciders are delicious. Packed with flavour and a perfect accompaniment for brisk fall days ahead.

I tried the County Cider Harvest Spice with a little bit of hesitation at first. I’m not big into pumpkin spice or flavours, like cloves and nutmeg, that are associated with fall. But I was pleasantly surprised. The “harvest flavours” are very subtle, and actually help enhance the apple flavour in the cider. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a slow-cooked dish.

The Toronto Cider Festival will be offering more boxes, so keep an eye out for their next launch!
